Spy-Cye is a PC controlled personal robot. It's ten pounds heavy, sixteen inches wide and will run around your area as you drag it on screen with your mouse. It communicates to your PC through two radio links. One link transfers robot data and the other carries live video and sound to your PC. Through this link you can see and hear what the robot sees and hears. Spy-Cye can seek out your web connection and connect through it at your command. You supply a user name and password, then from any browser anywhere, you can go to www.web-bots.com and log into your robot, send it to any destination on your map and see and hear through it.

Spy-Cye needs your help to learn its world. You first teach it the location of its home base. Then as you drag it out into the world with your mouse, it learns what's out there mapping free space to white and obstacles to black on your screen. At any time you can simply click on the home base and it will navigate back to it on its own and charge itself. It can run around for a full two hours before needing a charge. As you teach it places further than twenty feet from its home, it'll need to measure walls by pressing up against them. From then on, when it's unsure of its precise location it'll press back up against that wall to reset its position. You can map out space to the extent of the radio range which is 100 feet.

When you enable Spy-Cye's web connection it will attach through any connection you have on your computer including full time connections and dial up ones. Once it's connected to the web it registers your user name and password at the web-bots.com web site where you can then connect back to it from anywhere.

By using Microsoft(tm) Scheduler, you can schedule the robot to run at certain times during the day. It will then dial into the web for those periods and you'll be able to access it remotely.
